What an undertaking! It turned out beautiful and a lot of work and sweat and probably tears involved with this project. Thank you for sharing this! Just gorgeous! I have 3 that I've been asked to try to bring back to life - all of them from my hubby's ancestors having given him gifts as he grew up.... wow! I'm not sure I'll finish them in my lifetime for all I'm doing, but certainly will try. I also have one my grandmother made for me - another great undertaking! But, I will endure however long I can to make these "new" again.

you did a miraculous job on this quilt.
put off till tomorrow what you can do today, and if you procrastinate long enough, you may never have to do it.

All that I can say is "wow"! Wow for the effort of the creator, for the creativity and love she shows in the original.

And "WOW" for all your hard work and loving effort that went into making it not only useful, but as beautiful as the original quilt maker meant it to be.

The quilt is a double blessing for the recipient - it has the love and giving spirit of two wonderful quilters in it. Who could ask for more?

Maybe you can put a label on it that preserves the beautiful story of two quilters.
A quilt is like a good life. It's full of mistakes, but, in the end, it looks pretty good.

I would love to know the dear lady's reaction when she saw the wonderful quilt that you handed to her. You really are an angel.

This turned out beautifully. I am in the middle of an extensive refurbish/repair myself. I really hate it -- said I'd never volunteer again if more than minor repair needed. I work at it for a week and then procrastinate for a month. This just isn't any fun so you have my admiration for patience, tenacity, and talent!

Your sashing and little cornerstones give it a very modern feel, which I love.

You should be incredibly proud of this quilt; I hope the recipient appreciates it!
