I finished the top today. It was the most fun I've ever had at a sewing machine!! I still have some embroidery of eyes , etc. to get done before layering it!

Many thanks go to Marcia for her generous gift of fabrics!! Made it a lot easier for me!

Here's a picture of the finished top.

Your fabrics are georgous - I just adore chickens. How did you trip go?
Can't wait to see you quilt when it's complete.

Mamagus.. your chickens are looking too too cute!!!

Trevor and I were down your way in Bonavista a few weeks ago. It was while you were away. Are you right in Bonavista or outside? We took a tour of the Matthew, went out to the lighthouse and saw The Dungeon, went to Elliston and Spillars Cove. it is soooo beautiful down that way!

You drove right by my house, I would think... Lethbridge... highway 230... our house isn't down in the community. We like the solitude of highway living!!
Actually since the fishery has closed down and SO many people have moved away, it isn't any busier than a quiet country road!

    Yes we should!

I get curious questions everywhere I go, because I ask for fat quarters and most people want lots of fabric to make accessories and curtains for their kitchens.

Considering alll the challenges that are going on the Board right now, it might not be the best time to bring it up, but I am going to start collecting my fabric the next time I am at the quilt store!

I have been collecting my fabrics and patterns for awhile now. So as soon as I get a few things wrapped up I will be starting on mine.

Mamagus, I love what you have so far even without chicken fabric! They are so cute! But I love your new fabric too! Glad you had a good vacation.

I think a Chicken Challenge would be great. Maybe we can think up some guidelines thru the winter & have it start in early spring. Mabe broaden it to anything "chicky" not just bed quilts. Or maybe a chicken block swap!

Your chicken blocks are neat & the fabrics will be sooooooooo fun to incorporate, Mamagus.

Oh, I agree. A chicken block challenge would be fun.
My family is always sending me chickens to set around in my kitchen (not real ones), and I have given in to allowing chickens in the house. I might as well, the family just laughs when I fuss and then they give me more chickens. But a chicken quilt would be fun. They could all receive chicken quilts for Christmas. ....as revenge. :D
