Heck I wasn't in the swap and I would have wanted one LOL They are very nicely put together. Don't be so hard on yourself.

At any rate, your niece will love it and cherish your work.

You guys are kind. I took the quilt top to one of my home Hospice visits to show my patient. The lady used to sew, and it really brightened her day to see a work in progress. It was fun to hear her tell stories about sewing, etc.

I was shopping at JoAnns and found some fabric just like one of the scraps that I used in some of the stars. So I bought enough for a border to make the quilt just a bit larger. It set it off better. I also put a tiny star like the big ones in each corner of the border. But I'm done now! (except quilting)

Got it all ready for the wedding (next week). Even my Gracie loves it. I like to sew in the summer, but not really much quilting, etc. so this was a struggle for me. Hurray, it's finished!

Just can't keep the cat of anything I make!

Your quilt is gorgeous. So pretty.

Like your kitty, too. She/he looks just like my old kitty. They could be brothers/sisters.

No actually I tried the stitch that is called invisible tacking. It took lots more time that I would have wished. I took about 3 stitches over each over, about 1/3" long, then burried the thread inside to the next spot that I tacked it.

Well, "her" name is Gracie (Gray C: for cat) We thought she was a girl, thus the name. The vet thought she was a girl too, but when they cut her open for a spay, there were no girl parts. So they went a little lower and found little tiny boy parts. So she was spayed and neutered the same day. When she is older we will break the news that actually "she" is really a B-O-Y. But she's too happy to care now. She started out as a wild ferrel cat from a ferrel kitty that our friend rescued, but Gracie hasn't got a wild hair left in her!
