Road never traveled again

First I would like to apologize for the length of the explanation. You see this quilt is one of my favorite, but I hated making it. The name of the pattern is A Road Less Travelled, but for me it's a road never travelled again.
I started this quilt last fall for my youngest granddaughter whose birthday was in January. If anything could go wrong with this quilt, it did. It was supposed to be done in my small group which ended up breaking up this year after two meetings. I had to stop to do other things but wasn't worried because it's an easy pattern. When I got back to it, the trouble started. Never before has triangles given me such trouble. There are 56 blocks in the quilt and each block has 8 half square triangle patches. Whenever I had to start sewing where seams met, my machine would not cooperate. I even ironed the seams open. Sewing so I ended where the seams met messed me up for keeping the pattern and caused unsewing. Whenever I sewed half square triangles together for other projects like BOMs, I had no problems--just this quilt!!! Finally, I got the blocks done. I had been putting them on the design wall. When I realized I didn't have enough room to run the quilt up and down, I went sideways. Except, I forgot to change the direction on the paths which ended up backward from the pattern, but not that big of a deal.
Finally, I got to quilt it. I got it all loaded on the frame and had about 18 inches from the top done. My sis came in and informed me that I had the top wrong side up!!! Don't ask why I didn't notice, I guess I just wanted the stupid thing done. By then I was so sick of the quilt. I was getting close to finishing the quilting when the machine decided to start breaking thread. I checked things over and over and still it broke the threads. I swappped bobbins and all was well. I was afraid to do the trimming and sew the binding on, but that went without a hitch. For the first time, I washed a quilt. Good thing I threw in the color catchers; I caught black color from the backing!! I have never been so glad to get a quilt done.
Well, I guess it was all worth. When I got there my granddaughter came out of the house and called, "My blankie, my blankie!". Seeing her smile when I took her pictured snuggled up in her "blankie", it was truly worth it all.
One more thing, I asked my sis what to title it and she came up with May Your Path of Life be Easy. I thought that was too long so titled it Paths of Life but included what she said as a quote and included her name (Aunt Judy).

Wow, I love the pattern and the colors you used. What a nice story to go with it. Sorry it gave you so much trouble tho. The one thing I hate more than anything is taking out quilting stitches - yuck. :-)
