Same pattern and focus fabric, 2 different looks

Saw this pattern and new it would be perfect with this focus fabric. I love its bright, happy colors. These blocks were cut at 8-1/2" square, and the sashings ended up being 2-1/2" wide. My favorite is the one with the bl/wh polkadots, but the multicolor sash used up scraps. Thanks for looking.

Really interesting comparison! One you see the many colors first, the other highlights the fabric of the blocks.
I'm with you on liking the one with the black/white polka dots best.

I like the black polka dots too. The other fabrics seem too busy with the print. Maybe it could work if you used a really dark cornerstone instead of red?

Wow! Had to look again to see you used the same primary fabric as it looks totally different. I like them both.

different colors sure produce a different look using the same focus fabric. You did a good job on both.

Thanks for posting the 2 pictures. It really is amazing that both quilts have the same focus fabric, they look so different at first glance. It goes to show what a bit impact a small design change can make. Very nice work on both of them.

I love working with 8.5" squares. The quilts are so bright and cheery. Great idea to use up scraps in the sashing !!

I like the black/white polka dot sashings the best, however, yours is a dramatic difference sashing can make with the same fabric, which I love.
