adorable quilt and I love the cute tradition, its great for the kids and family. My son started one, when his children were small, he took all their gifts from Santa and put them in a very large velvet Santa's bag. When the kids woke in the morning they didn't have anything from Santa so they looked around the house and then went outside and there it was on the roof, he told them Santa couldn't fit down the chimney and the door was locked so he couldn't get in. It was so cute, the kids kept the bag waiting for him the following year, and put it out with Santas cookies and milk.

Absolutely beautiful and whimiscal. I love it and your tradition. I personally use Christmas Bears for the same reason and one is always peeking out from the tree somewhere. My kids loved it and my grandchildren expect it.
