You did a great job with a block that isn't easy-peasy. Everything lines up. If you worry about the corner pieces being too small -- make them oversized and trim afterwards. Remember half (or more) of a quilting lesson is how to correct a problem when you make an error

I think it looks fine and just remember practice makes perfect. No quilt police here!

Nice block! I think you are on a fast learning curve and just need to make a few more blocks. I have made these blocks and they are fun but challenging. It looks like you have nested your seams well according to the tutorial. Your seams look great! The corner is fine. I would not have seen it at all if you had not mentioned it. Did you square and trim your HSTs? This is one of the things I continue to "live and learn" ... Pat

Very nice for a newbie. I may have to put tis on my to-do list. I really like your fabric choices.

I really like your block too. Just think, if you practice 11 more times like this you'll have a nice Practice Throw.

I think it looks great, especially for a new quilter!!! A like the corners,
you'll have a little 4-patch when you put the blocks together.
