I'm going to print out that picture of your great organization and nail it to the wall as a reminder of my goals. You are an inspiration to us all.

God gave you and me the exact same amount of time. I have fettered mine away and have little to show for it.

The way you organize relates well to the quilts you want to make. One of my favorite scrappies is called square vestibule, so I have baggies of 2.5" and 5.5" squares as well as 2.5 by 5.5" strips (2 of the latter per block). It is amazing how fast a precut quilt goes together. I also like to add star points to the ends of the strips, making the smaller squares into star centers. Of course there are lots of other uses for those shapes. Twice, I have just finished a bed sized quilt only to hear of a great need for an immediate quilt.

Log cabin is gorgeous. My scraps are all thrown in a tupperwear container.

Nice job Lois, truly inspiring scrappy projects. Once I finish binding a few UFO projects, I plan to make sense of my scrap bins...I like your idea of precutting some of them. Thank you for sharing.

I gave all of mine to a lady in the same quilt guild as I am. That is how they got organized.

As soon as I finish quilting my DH's Christmas quilt LOL (It is actually quilted, bound and has a hanging sleeve) but decided to add more personalized details) I am going to do the same thing. I can't stand clutter and my sewing room is a disaster after the rush to get three quilts done for Christmas AND using it as a storage room while our son and his family were here for 11 days. I have several boxes of scraps to cut. Everyone has their own system, but I usually fold anything the size of a FQ or larger. Smaller?...........I cut into 2.5 inch strips, blocks or 5" squares & sort by color. Batiks and flannels have their own boxes.
