It's SUCH a simple quilt in reality. I love that it looks more complicated than it is. That kind of quilt is my specialty! It's a bunch of 9" log cabin blocks, and a bunch of 9" churn dash blocks. Lay them out on your design wall and play with them until they make the arrangement you want. (In my case it's a design FLOOR, because I didn't have room for a design wall. LOL!) You all have my written permission to copy the photo and make a blatant copy of the quilt if you like. Won't hurt my feelings in any way.

I like the effect that black has on many quilts and wish my eyes were better. I do use it, and each time I tell myself that I shouldn't be taxing my eyes so much.

Wonderful quilt. The two patterns put together as well as the black and the colors make the quilt very striking.

Such a pretty quilt, and more Magic by MaDan. Wow, you just keep amazing me and inspiring me to do more. Wish I would work as fast and accurately as you do! Love it, so keep them coming.

LOL! Anyway, in this case it's just two old traditional blocks put together, so no real pattern was required anyway. It was more a case of color choice and placement.
And this is just why I love this quilt!

Very striking! Love how the colors pop against the black.
