Default Scrappy patriotic quilt back

In between addressing Christmas cards and doing baking, I put together this scrappy patriotic quilt back to help our guild finish the quilt top we made for a local community member who will receive it as a surprise thank you for all he has done. Looks kind of funky but to me, it is better than a plain back. Plus I was using up much of the scrap pieces we had left over. This will be the 3rd one our guild, along with community volunteer ladies, has made. Will also include pic of the top. It is the one on the bed. The backing is being held up by my DH with an exam by our friendly quilt inspector.

Very nice! I see your quilt inspector peeking around the bottom corner.

Great quilt and great backing. I like the backings to be useful as a top, too!

In fact, when I make a "kid" quilt, I always try to make the backing look like a simple quilt top but with a more grown up look. That way the quilt 'grows up' with them!
