Size: 674.3 KB "Kodachrome" Before I put the top sashing on, as the strips layed next to one another, it started to look like 16mm film strips. So hence the name. I'm not going to add a border, but will bind with black to keep the focus on the film strips. This was my first "scrap busting" project. As I look thru the pics of those posted on the board, I think what I call scraps and what someone else calls scraps are two different things. Hope you enjoy, cause I did. ( Added to the pile with the 9 other tops that needs to be sandwiched and quilted)

    Gannyrosie;

    Love the "Kodachrome" quilt top. It is quite stunning. Everyone has different sizes of scraps - it's what makes us all unique.

    I believe UFOs are like scraps, ferns and dust bunnies. Once you get two, they send spores out into the air and more just happen anywhere the spores meet.

    This is a wall hanging I did last year to play around with color placement AND get rid of some of my stash. :-)

    This is the quilt that makes me MOST proud! I didn't purchase one piece of fabric; only used my stash and it's a quilt I wanted to make for years, but didn't think I could do it!

    This is a scrappy I made a couple years ago for our pastor who was very sick at the time. He has since gone home to be with Jesus but he very much enjoyed the quilt. I told him to imagine each package was a gift from God. This was taken when it was till pinned together. Guess I didn't take one when it was finished. Never got one with him either.

    Blessed are the quilters, for they are the piecemakers.

    Re: Post #2502- Gannyrosie I absolutely ADORE your kodachrome quilt!!! Are the kodachrome strips 2-1/2" wide? And how wide are the black sashing strips? How big is it? As I said, I love it, love it, love it. Looks like the kodachrome strips are all different lengths, right?

    dd, that gift quilt is precious, and so is the sentiment. It looks like it would be fun to make, too!

    Your quilt is beautiful! Can you share the link to the pattern? Everytime I look at this quilt I see something different. It is just so pretty.

    I starred with an old roll of calulator tape but only had one roll. So I cmpromised ,it measured 2 1/4 inches wide so I just cut newspaper to that width. The sashing is 1.5 inchs wide. It's about 72 inches square. I think what makes the strips look dif length is the few black pieces in the strips.

    NanaPam, did you use a pattern for the Walking Dead quilt? I'm trying to figure out what the different blocks are and keep getting lost in this beautiful quilt.
