Default Gotta love that Glide foot! - Long arm quilting accessory?

Recently I learned about a "Glide" foot for longarm quilting - meant to slide seamlessly over intersections of blocks, I think the idea is genius!
But at $99 USD plus shipping etc, exchange, and possible duty/brokerage at the border, I thought the price was a bit steep.....
Enter my DH to the rescue - we discussed what was needed/wanted, figured out how to find the "cup" shape (top of a health and beauty product that was clear and roughly the correct size once trimmed down in height) and DH ingenuity, and...….
Voila! My very own glide foot made using a regular foot for my machine that I never used (I usually run with the ruler foot on).
Having quilted a table runner and a small lap quilt with it, I can say it performs wonderfully and I love it!

I'm not sure if sit down quilters would find this a useful foot or not, but I do think it would be useful for sure.... and the same principle could be used to make one.

    Glad you discovered it, GEMRM!

When I got my Janome 6600, I got one ... and that was what got me hooked on domestic FMQing.
My Bernina has it as an interchangeable foot. Sweet 16 has one too.

I guess I have been spoiled!

Oh I do love that idea; wish I'd had it when I quilt this one quilt with a flange on it (Big mistake on my part). It's awesome. Wanna sell one? LOL You guys could go into business! What a great idea! DH is a keeper.

GEMRM, That's very clever of you and your DH. I was sitting here pondering what toiletry product I may have seen that would work, when it suddenly hit me that I already have a foot like that. My Baby Lock Ellisimo came with it, and they call it a free motion echo quilting foot. I have never tried it because since I got the machine in 2017 I have been using the embroidery function for quilting in the hoop and have barely tried to do free motion on this machine. Thanks for the tip!
