When my son was little he had sleep issues - he was ADHD and could go all night without sleep. The doctor recommend that we put a screen door on his bedroom and a latch on the outside - he was confined to his room only, but could communicate with us if he needed to. Finally got a few nights sleep after that.

Whatever works! We have a baby gate between our dining roomand family room to keep our lab/ret. out. Have to have
one room that is dog hair free.

To add on to this idea, we raised the half door just high enough for the cat to squeeze through but dog couldn't. We didn't want my elderly cat to have to jump to basement side with the stairs right there.

It would already be prepared for the hinges. It really works for us.

i know someone who did the screen door for a baby. that boy was a climber. he could climb over anything. even 2 babygates stacked wouldn't keep him in one place. that's why the screen door. seeing him climb up the double gate really scared them. that is the only way they kept him in his room at night.

That really is a great idea! I don't like to close the door to my room but a screen door still gives you some privacy and you see what the noise is all abou!
