As a third generation sailor I think it looks very nautical. Pat yourself on the back, forget nit-picking yourself, something I do daily, remember it is the love that went into making the quilt that is most important. I hope my DH doesn't ask for a Harley quilt. :)

Have you ever used Quilt Smart fusible designs? The Lone Star and Mariners Compase are easy to do that way.
