Your machine is beautiful. I have been looking at the 500A's but now that I have a 401A, I'm happy.

Enjoy your new machine.

My grandma bought her's in '63 also..I have payment coupon and all her receipts for payment. She kept everything together. She made notes on stuff, but it's written in Spanish, so I'll have to translate it to figure out what she was writing.

I think I'll name it after my grandma too, in honor of her. 1963 was the year I was born...so that's extra special for me.
I can translate it if you don't understand Spanish.

Beautiful machine.
Thanks "jen...06" - my mom reads and writes Spanish, so she will be able to do the translation...my Spanish is very rusty these days.

Congrats on your new machine. The 503's are a real work horse. I love mine.

Cool! I would love to have had one of my GM's machines!

I saw one like this one at a yard sale yesterday. It was in a nice cabinet, had 2 boxes of attachments and looked to be in great condition. She wanted $100. for it. I have no idea if that is a good price or not, but I didn't buy it. If anyone is interested...I can tell you where it is...(if you are around Middleton, TN)

Hi...looks just like the one I recently purchased in an estate sale. The model number is under the hood across the light bulb on the right hand side. tilt machine over or just bend down & there it is...mine is a Model 503A.
Happy sewing!Kayrn

How wonderful is that to get your grandmother's machine from the same year you were born. Looks like a real good machine.

Where do I find the serial number on this machine?
Try looking under the machine where it goes into the table in the front.
