It's really beautiful!
And I can imagine how it would look with a pale blue instead of the ivory, and I wouldn't like that either...
However, I can't imagine having the patience to redo the work, that must have taken a lot of courage!

WOW! I can't imagine taking that whole quilt apart and putting it together again! However, you certainly did the right thing, this one looks great, and love the pillows that you added.

Don't know if this is what you need but there is an easy formula (especially if one uses a calculator---on your phone perhaps). If you know the length of the short sides (finished size, not cut size) of the HST multiply by 1.414 to get the length of the diagonal side.
If you know the diagonal length multiply by .707 to find the length of the short sides (i.e. the sides coming off of the right angle).

There's also a chart of fractions to decimals for using to calculate sizes, etc.
1/8" = .125
1/4" = .250
3.8" = .375
1/2" = .50
5/8" = .625
3/4" = .75
7/8" = .875

Hope that helps.

This is a truly beautiful combination. I really like your shams to go with it. I understand about taking something apart and re-doing it. Unless you are pleased a project can become an UFO or a point of disappointment whenever you look at it. But, you did it and made a pleasurable quilt to enjoy.

That is without a doubt one of the most beautiful quilts I've ever seen. You should be very proud and happy. Don't know if I'd have the patience to take it apart and redo, but kudos for a gorgeous job.
