No quilts passed down in my family, but I do have some precious family items like my grandmother's first doll and my great grandmother's rocking chair.

My great uncle was a recluse and in possession of numerous family treasures, when his daughter (my cousin) passed away I worked up the nerve to ask him for anything he might want to part with and I'm so glad I did. He gave me a few treasures but when he passed a year later, he left behind an invalid will and all his stuff was seized and auctioned off by the state. My DH and I went to the auction but we didn't have much money and nearly everything went for way more money than we could possibly afford.

Your treasures are wonderful and you can tell by the condition of the cabinet how loved and well taken care of it was.
