This is from the book Affairs of the Heart by Aie Rossman.

I have done it all with hand needleturn applique, but it's perfectly possible to machine applique all the pieces. The book has patterns for 7in blocks, but most seem to be enlarging them to 10in for a larger quilt. I still have the outer borders to add (three almost done, one to go).
That is sooo pretty. I could just stare at it for ages. Black backgrounds really do it for me. It just showcases all that work and colour. Thanks for sharing.

For me that would require a couple hours and room on my camera disc to take all the pictures.

I have a couple in progress and only one is close to being done, that is one of the baby quilts. I have to say I prefer the peicing to the quilting part of the quilt. I am still trying to learn more complicated designs.

for my dads bed, Hopefully for Christmas

I have a lap quilt that I just finished the main pieces...need to add a border (not sure yet of color...probably yellow)...then I get to sandwich, etc. Measures about 42" x 58".

I had never mitered corners before & I thought I would try with this. I had not made the 10 minute block either so that was another guinea pig in this quilt. I didn't have enough of the dark blue stripe to go all of the way around (you need a lot more fabric to miter corners!) so I added the red & white stars. Now it looks like I have a diagonal pattern going on with the 9 patches & the star blocks. I am auditioning what I am going to do next but I think I cut it off in the picture!
I just love this quilt top. Beautiful. I also like all the others I have seen here.
