    Silent Auction Quilt

I did this quilt for a silent auction to support the organization where I got my guide dog from....to be fair to everyone who may have a chance to bid on this quilt....I will not post what organization it was made for ....or the organization that the money will get going to....

Pretty quilt for a great cause!!
May your stitches always be straight, your seams always lie flat, and your grain never be biased against you.

I hope your very pretty quilt raises lots of money for the organization you are supporting. Most people do not understand the cost of raising a guide dog-it is about $20,000.00 for a guide dog for a blind or seeing-impaired person.
We used to live in Virginia and were part of a group who raised the guide dog puppies. It was one of the most rewarding activities we ever did. When we moved to Colorado we gave it up because the distance to the group activities was just too far. But we never forget about our wonderful experiences with these pups. The hardest part, as you might guess, is giving them back to the guide dog school at the end of the 15 months. It would have been impossible if we had not kept our vision on the goal of providing someone with increased independence because of the dog.
