Hi there gingered. The edges are just 2 1/2 inch strips sewed onto the edges of the compiled 4 scrappy blocks with squares in the corners. I then quilted the whole cushion top, attached front to back and sewed all around 3 sides in the ditch of the edges. I put the cushion pad in, pushed it down to compress the feathers and sewed the 4th side in the ditch to close it up and make the edges flap!! Hope this makes sense!
