small tree of life wall hanging

I finished and washed this yesterday--about 36x30 inches. It will be a Christmas gift. I'm not sure I like the darker batik fabric in the four corners, but it will have to do!

Just had to laugh at myself! When I first saw it I liked it all except the pink border! There wasn't any pink anywhere else in the quilt-- then I realized that the pink was not part of your quilt. It is beautiful! Congratulations on a job well done.

Oh, that is so cute with the birds. Nice colors, too.

Beautiful! The dark batik in the four corners sets it off perfectly, especially when you bound it in the same fabric. You little touch of applique in borders is sweet.

Thank you, everyone, for looking and commenting. I hope the recipient likes it, too.

I suppose I thought of it as a little quilt and just washed it because I thought the muslin probably got oily/dirty from handling it. I guess it would have been crisper if I hadn't but I might give it a light pressing

How wonderful and the bluebirds make it perfect. A very happy quilt.

I agree with feline fanatic, the background corners are neutral enough to not compete with the center, but strong enough to give a support to it. Of course sometimes the color in real life does look different than in a picture, so it may have a different feel for you. I really like it too.
