nope, because you sew them in order and you end up with a long ragged edged piece. Just let it be ragged until you get it all done.

I made this quilt...another project I haven't quilted yet. I have been admiring all the bargello quilts people are making here. Thinking I should do one. I didn't realize when I was sewing my flag like this one that I was doing a small bargello!! Now that I know that I am getting braver about doing a bigger one with more fabrics in it!! Thanks for putting on here that this is a bargello project.

That is really cool! It would be a good warm up to a larger bargello. I have been afraid to try one yet for that reason

This really did end up being a good warm up. I found it very enjoyable to make my larger bargello, too. It's a very forgiving project for a beginner. I got lots of practice matching seams (in the big one), yet you really can't see where I "missed" either! :oops:

I have tried so hard to find this pattern. Then I looked at the date of your post, and realized it must be out of print. Emailed the publisher to try see if I can still get one, but haven’t heard back yet.
