I see how it works now...thanks for the pictures. It's hard to believe that there is enough "snap" in the tape to hold it closed. Thanks again.

Oh yeah, there's plenty of snap since the tape measure wants to go back to its original shape. The trickiest part of this is sewing the last seam up the side next to the tape measure and then turning it right side out. I did a 3-step zig zag on the side seams before turning it right side out.

They're a hit at church fairs and craft fairs.
