When you get one scrappy quilt done, then use a different pattern. Lots of patterns at www.quiltcache.com

Your right when I start cutting and using my scraps instead of getting smaller they keep growing while the piles of finished quilt tops keep growing the scraps are busy multiplying so where do they all come from is my question?

J just love all these comebacks! For nearly 10 years I traveled in an RV,but in 'o4 bought a house to put my fabric in. My oldest daughter has now started quilting and is bringing her 11 yr. old mentee as an activity and I have opened up my totes and shelves hoping they will make BIG quilts now so my poor daughters won't have to give it away when I'm gone. I luv making string quilts, sewing therapy, mindless concentration. New to QB, luuuvvvvv QB.

I like your scraps-even if you have a lot-good luck, your quilt will be great.

I have a scrappy basket, but nothing goes in greater that a 4"x4" piece, all others are folded into a stack by color. I seem to have better control over them that way.

Most of those aren't what I consider 'scraps' -

Fold up the larger pieces and the scrap basket will only be about half as full.

Maybe it is like sourdough bread starter. You take some out to make bread and the remainder regenerates so you never run out! LOL

I love scrappy quilts - I don't have near the stash of scraps that you have but ... I just made 270 nine patches from 2.0 inch squares (Adventures with Leaders and Enders by Bonnie K. Hunter) the quilt is almost finished - just need to add borders (fabric already purchased). I cut my leftovers into blocks to make scrappy and dig into my stash on a regular basis to get more as needed. I love getting a king-size quilt for the cost of an outside border and a back!

Dear Lord! You should never have to buy material ever again. LOL! Fat chance of THAT happening, huh?
