I love the second quilt. The colors are gorgeous. I love your thinking even more! I'm with you on this subject!

I love what you've done and especially love the quilt with the batiks....wow!
I agree with all you said. We should make our quilts with our own ideas in the colors we love. Patterns are wonderful, but they are just a starting point. Of course, I continue to collect books and patterns, just like I collect fabric. I love seeing ideas from other quilters. There are SO many talented people on this board. It's awesome to look at everyone's work.

well, I think they are great, and no matter what gets me inspired, pretty much most of mine won't be bothering anybody's copyrights, bc I do so much changing. Good for you, JJ!!!

They are ALL scrumptious, however I'm leaning toward the teal and chocolate one. I've got room at my house anytime.

The french braid quilt is my favorite. I tend to make up quilts as I go along, too. I have never made a quilt exactly according to directions...

thank you, but my point was, there were NO DIRECTIONS - I didn't use a pattern from magazine, or store-bought, or book...

Good job on all those quilts, and even better on voicing your opinions. You go Girl, and I agree wholeheartedly
