AMEN-couldn't agree with you more! I have never made a quilt to someone else's specifications, nor do I plan to. Why would I want to when I can do the 'math' at home and come up with a one of a kind creation instead of a cookie-cutter one.

By profession, I am a chef. A recipe is a basic guideline, you add this, take away that, and come up with a signature dish. Quilting, for me, is the same way. I start with an idea for a block, and away we go. Isn't that what we all do?
