I saw a quilt done with 4" embroidered block then you sew the blocks together . The thing is part of the design is on one block and part on another.

I desided before I spend the money for the pattern I wanted to try something smaller on the same princeple. I found this cute hummingbird and did it last night. It is a bit of a challenge to get them to line up but it was worth it.

Wow, that is really cool. You did an excellent job lining up the blocks. Maybe someday I'll try that. Keep up the good work.

I love it. Ok dumb question here as I know NOTHING about Em. Machines.... Can't you do your 4 patch, THEN sew on the picture? Will it not look right?

No you have to embroider each block seperately then sew them togather.

I did get the pattern and they make it easier then this one was. When you embroider the pattern it also embroiders a seamline just match them and sew on it.

This is a picture of the two I want to do it will take some time but they are so pretty

    this is called Sweet Pea

Your hummingbird sample is every bit as lovely as either of those patterns! Of the two patterns, the sweet pea is my favourite, neat idea for those with machines.
