Take one of the colors in your medallion to use for the border instead of the blue/green or just use the navy blue.

to me it's the bird border, somehow it just doesn't go with it. Ortherwise, beautiful quilt.

It is very pretty, but I also think the border doesn't go with it well.

I agree with many of the others. The border is nice & the quilt top is lovely just not on the same quilt. It needs a lighter or plainer border (not so busy) maybe the medium blue that is the background for the dresden. That border is very nice just not for that top. It really detracts from the dresden, over powers it. IMHO.

Yes, the border drew my eyes to it and away from the rest of the quilt. Not sure how true colors come thru in the pictures that are uploaded, but it looks like the green kind of clashes with the other quilt colors. My first impression of the border was it reminded my of the 'Caution' road signs. Perhaps on another quilt it would work perfectly.

I love the dresden plate. I have yet to try one of those, but look forward to giving it a try one day.

The border is terrific--for another project! If this is were my quilt, I would take the inner border off and replace it with white--perhaps the same fabric as the Dresden and make the wide border from either the solid blue in the center or the red in the center. froggyintexas

Oh is that a wonderful interior. The border is overpowering it as I am sure others have told you.the green. It catches the eye before you see all the wonderful things you have in the center. I think it is the green. But that interior, love it.

Not sure I like the border. Its too distracting from the Plate. Maybe if you used a couple of the colors from the actual plate material it would look better? JMHO.

I agree, both borders and the corners do not match the dresden center. I love both, they are great looking at but not together

The borders are way too dark. I think you should have used much lighter fabric. The border looks way too busy and dark.

The border might look better if you were to use the gold or yellow instead of the green. I think the navy and green just put too much impact on the block! I love the Dresden though. Its looking great!

In my opinion, the border is proportionately too large for the center; so I would make the border pieces smaller and change the green color--perhaps to the blue used in the center.

I would not have used either border. If it were mine, I would have put a red thin border where the brownish one is. Then maybe a bigger border in the same fabric as the Dresden & then a blue border last. I do like the birds in the corners. The blue & green border is great for something else. It would even make an awesome quilt all on its own & alternate each strip. Your Dresden is awesome.

I think the border is really neat but overwhelming-it doesn't seem to fit with the other fabrics.

I love your border...it just doesn't compliment your dresden like it should. Looks like you need to make another dresden to go with that border...and choose a new border for this dresden.
Sure hope we get to see pictures!!
