Those soft colors make it nearly impossible to see the design from close up. Ready to be horrified? As a kid, I machine washed it. My mother had a FIT!!!

Oh my gosh, it is lovely. I too got a log cabin from my husband's Grandmother. It contained family clothing too. Luckily I had a friend who could identify some of the fabrics for me.

We lived in South Caroline in the late 60's , actually in Goose Creek and there was very little out there. But we have such fond memories of living there...I think your quilt is wonderful, during our time there we drove around on the weekends and saw many old log cabins and we would see old quilts hanging on the clotheslines or the railing of a porch. Thank you, you've just given me a trip down memory lane, "at the foot of a moss laden tree. "
