It's not actually a 9 inch ruler, it's a 9 degree ruler. I actually made a 10 degree template out of posterboard because I couldn't get one locally at the time. I think folks have posted some helpful links earlier in this thread if you need help finding one to purchase.

IF you get a pattern made with instructions to follow I would like to purchase from you. I saw this done in Purples and it was beautiful. Great job.

Why are some usng 9inch and 10 inch rulers. Is there a difference. I am going to make a template also and the pattern calls for 9 inch. Will I be OK with the 50 inch circle that makes the 10 inch wedges?

Mine was made with a 10 degree ruler; the third posting down was made with the 9 degree ruler. The difference is that the 10 degree gives you a little tighter curve. Take a look at them and try whichever one you like best

www.phillipsfiberart.com was where I got my ruler and pattern and they were so helpful. Don't know if their offer is still on but they had a reduction on the ruler. It is 10 degrees but just does the same job just a bit bigger and of course I had help from this forum on the cutting but realised it is quite easy once you get started.

I layered the front and the batting with basting spray, then sewed the backing fabric to it, right sides together, leaving a "hole" for turning, then clipped the curves (that took awhile!) and turned the whole thing right side out. Then I topstiched around the edge and did just a little curvy quilting to hold it all in place.
