    Yes, it is hand quilting thread. I don't remember the brand but probably Coats. I use it a lot and don't have any trouble with it. I'll try and post a close up of the quilting.

    Here's a picture of the hand quilting you requested. This is on the border. The quilting in the blocks is just straight quilting about 1/4 inch inside the seam line.
