    I dont know if you call it thread painting or freemotion. I enhance the texture of the trees with thread and also the leaves. then I'll stipple the back ground. Perhaps the sky as a stipple and the snow just back and forth. I have not decided yet.
    I learned this from watching Sewing With Nancy. (Ziemen) I might have spelled her last name wrong but its not NancyPrince

    Just looking at it makes me want to try one. How did you get the darker look in the snow? You are truly an artist. Keep up the good work.

    I use silver markers with black ontop in areas to give the allusion of shadows. Use the silver first this makes the black softer when you apply it.
