    Lovely quilt, love the colors of it. Did the smell ever come out of it after it was washed?

    It looks great! Now thast it's done, I'm sure you can get the smell out. Airing it out in the sun (even in the winter can help). You could also try vinegar- it really does a good job of taking smells out.

    We used Oxy-Clean to get out the smell from a house fire out of quilts and clothing. It took a couple of washings but the smell is gone from the things we were able to rescue and wash. I've since learned that it is the "oxy" (oxygen) in an ingredient that causes activation and makes it work. Another 'oxy' cleaner also worked on the carpet.
