It did lower my stash of blues somewhat - I ran out of navy blue and had to get some from the "free" table at guild. However, I still have lots of medium blue. I would rate this as advanced - the points in the diamonds are tough to match up with those in the square-in-a-squares. It might be doable by a confident beginner if paper pieced.

Stunning quilt...I love it in blues. Congratulations on getting one off your bucket list and I hope it put a big dent in your stash of blues. It’s a great quilt.

lovely quilt. I bought a wall quilt at the Albany Oregon Mennonite auction that has this pattern as a background for a light house. How appropriate. I hadn't realized that.

Gorgeous! This block has fascinated me for years and now I have a good reason to make one for our parish priest. He suffers from diabetes and has recently been diagnosed with kidney failure. He has just begun dialysis and I wanted to make a quilt for him to take to treatments, as well as to use at home. I won't go into the whole story of why I chose this pattern but will say I
going to incorporate a cross in the design.

I, too, am going to use blues, with a cream and, of course, brown for the cross. I need to figure out how much of each color fabric I need and get to the LQS (as soon as the snow clears a bit).

Did you paper piece yours or use patches? I am thinking of paper piecing because, while that process uses more fabric, I think it will be more accurate with sharper points. I'm pretty good at aligning points, but this design has so, so many!

Your quilt is beautiful and I hope mine turns out as well as yours. Thanks for sharing!
