Stu-Stu-Studio

Oh, I love your studio, and love the knotty pine. I have my sewing cabinet against the back of the living room couch, use the kitchen table to cut on, and so none of my messes are even hidden when I sew.
I also paint, and when I have my easel set up, it occupies the space between the table and the windows in the dining area.
It is living space. No room for creative messes.
To have your space, I wouldn't care if it had sheets nailed to wall studs.....just a space of my own would do.
Yours is heavenly.

As I read your post I felt your pain of not having a room of your own. So happy that you have your own space to work in now. I will be getting one soon. My oldest daughter is getting married on May 29th and I'm moving my bedroom furniture into her room since she took hers and making the master bedroom, which isn't much bigger than my daughter's bedroom but it will be my sewing room. I'm so excited about getting my own space so I know where you are coming from. It will be nice to be able to get up and leave, close the door and then come back to my sewing when I can and not have to put everything away when I have to cook dinner. Your sewing space looks great by the way. Wish I could have that much room.

Great space! Think I'll use one of your ideas for future remodeling at my place -- using a kitchen counter/cabinet -- must be a wonderful height for cutting. Also like the knotty pine; if it "grows" on you, put up quilts!!! Wish I could -- my sewing room is 10'x10', top floor of a Cape Cod so only half walls.
One last thought... how's the humidity in your basement? Mine is dry but, at times, it benefits from a dehumidifier. Over time, a kind of mildewy film can appear on metal parts.
Enjoy you new space!!

It totally out classes my basement!!!! I'd be jumping up and down if I had that much room and the basement atleast being finished. Once is starts getting really cold, I have to move my quilting from the sunroom back to the basement!! Really not a creative environment at all!!! YUCK!!!
