Oh wow, that is one beautiful quilt! I would have to agree with some of the other posts here. I'd quilt in the ditch around most of the piecing, if you want to do some more..I would quilt diagonally (both ways) in the pieced center section. I'd quilt around the applique and maybe 1 echo just to make it "pop". Then quilt in the ditch around the very outside border so as not to draw your eye away from the inner sections. Good luck...if you are tired of it before you are done...I'll be sure to give it a good home  Its beautiful!!!

This is beautiful. Again, I'm in awe of the talents we see on this board. Thank you for sharing. Sorry I can't give you any insight in how to quilt it...I just always take mine to the quilter and ask her to tell me what she thinks will look best so I'm no help...

I agree with Yvonne - the piecing is so beautiful I'm sure a very minimal amount of quilting (in the ditch maybe or quarter inch from some seams) would be a good idea??? Just a suggestion!!

I have absolutely no opinion on how to quilt since my experience is slightly above how much opinion I have, , but I must chime in here that that is a gorgeous quilt!

My sentiments exactly! That is one fabulous quilt! Colors are just spectacular and I love the applique border!

That is a truly beautiful quilt! I would quilt diagonally through the triangles and do a smaller flower similar to what you have in your border in the white areas, and then maybe sprinkle in some butterflies randomly for good measure whever they might be needed. Do let us know what you decide on!

I deeply appreciate all of you giving your opinions & suggestions. I will consider each suggestion.
I also appreciate the very kind praise directed toward Spring Beauty. I really enjoyed making this quilt, probably because it was made in 1930 Repos, one of my favorite fabrics.

Rebecca, you & I are fine. I appreciate your apology, even though it was not necessary on your part. Takes a big person to step forward & do an apology publically. (If I ask again on something else, I would enjoy your opinion? I always consider each suggestion, whether I choose to use it or not)

    Many Thanks to Everyone! Riley

When I saw you picture I said "Oh, wow!" out loud! I just love this quilt! I agree that whatever quiting you do, you should keep it simple. Your design and your colors are the stars here!

Such a lovely quilt. I am in awe that you hand pieced it
I think I would "Cross Hatch" it. I love cross hatching!!! Then in the border ummm, ...well I looked back on your top and I would cross the body of it then I would do vertical lines in the border. Just a thought! I think it would be in keeping with the style of your quilt.

Please let us all know what you choose either way it will be stunning!
