Default Summery Tote

I mentioned to my youngest daughter I was thinking of making her some sort of purse for her birthday and asked what type she'd like, fabric, etc., she said she was really liking tote bags lately and wanted it in "summery" looking fabrics including aqua, coral/orange and yellow, so I set out to look for fabrics and planned the pattern, here's what I came up with. I forgot to build pockets into the canvas interior, so I got the fabrics back out, and made pockets to match the front and back, and gave it a big polka dot button, just because. Thanks for looking.

Great bag. I am a fan of pockets on the outside. Easier to find keys etc than rummaging around inside.

Pretty bag. outside pockets are smart and your lining is so tidy. My linings always seem to droop an look loose. What is your secret?

Great looking bag. I also like pockets on the outside and on the inside. Love the fabric, do you remember the name of the collection? BrendaK

Thanks so much, everyone.

Ube - I sew deeper seams in the lining, with this bag probably a 3/8" seam (with a 1/4" seam on the exterior), with a quilted outer I go even deeper, probably closer to 1/2" so the lining isn't baggy.

Brenda, I got the fabrics from Hobby Lobby and Joann's so no collection as such, they just all worked together pretty well.
