This is the picture of the whole "Sunflowers" quilt designed by Pam Bono. In the "just the way I am..." department, this was the first quilt I ever decided to do! Hadn't sewn for 40 yrs so do I chose to do a placemat? No, not me! It was the first one I started but I did finish a couple of others before it. Can you imagine SID around each flower on an old straight stitch machine? It's for my daughter (caught napping) and her husband's king size log bed. Took about 16 mos. to finish but I did it! The chicken wire fabric is not matched up and one of the leaves is in the wrong place, but we love it!

It's beautiful! Quite an undertaking for a first quilt. You did a fantastic job. You know it's good when the cats approve!

That is so cheerful looking, and I'm sure your daughter loves it. Everytine she sees the cheery flowers she is going to think of "Mom" and her pretty smile, and will feel sunshine in her heart.

Thanks, Clem55, that's very sweet! Actually we have this great relationship whereby the leaf that is on the wrong side of the stem (the upper and lower leaves are reversed) is the thing that she will remember me for! We both decided to leave as is!

Sounds as is you and your daughter have the kind of relationship I have with my daughter and sonsd. There is nothing they enjoy more than laughing about the goofs I make. Whenever we are all together, they bring up silly things I did from back when they were little kids. It is good for me to know they will have memories that will make them laugh when I am no longer around.
