Very cool...the "old fashioned" way to make a twister!

1. cut the strips 4 3/4 inches wide. (use four different fabrics)

2. stack four strips on top of each other with the right sides facing up on all strips.

3. place template at one end and trace around with a mico pen.

4. cut out with ruler and rotary cutter, turning as needed (four patches)

5.check the beginning of post to see how to put it together

Default The patch

I made a pdf of the patch for you. I printed it out to check it and it is perfect. I am going to go and work on my table runner now and will post when done....

A first look your work reminded me of VanGogh. Really! The color choices and motion created hinted that. Thank for taking the time to teach all of us how to do the same work.

Default Blocks together

I just finished sewing the blocks together for the table runner. I wish now that I had waited to sew the blocks together. I see now that I could have added more different fabics, and played around with the blocks, once I understood the pattern. I did manage add a dark wine, a dark green and a purple print, a red print and some orange.

I have never made a table runner so I dont' even know how wide it should be lol....I will find out and add borders or strips. I will wait to quilt it as I want to quilt it on my Gammill. I want to make a wall hanging out of the same book and then quilt them together.

I think later on as the mood strikes, I will reduce the templater and make smaller blocks unsing tons of scraps and going wild for a wall hanger....one can really play with color with this type of quilt.....
