It's a beautiful quilt! When we were getting ready to move from Calif to Texas, we had a health delay...six months & my quilting/sewing supplies were all packed, including my machines! I went to Walmart, found a machine on the as is table (said the feed dogs didn't work...they did), bought a coloring book with flowers in it, some embroidery floss and three yards of white fabric....I traced a rose from the book onto 12 blocks, and spent the rest of our wait embroidering those blocks...sold the quilt once it was done. I now do hand embroidery every time we travel anywhere...and at night when watching tv.

As flower gardening is another of my loves, this quilt to me is just GORGEOUS! Your intricate applique is exquisite! To love a girlfriend that much, to spend four years working on this! As we all know, as quilters.... every stitch you were thinking of her, what a treasured friendship.

P.S. will you be my friend? :0)

Your quilt is absolutely gorgeous. To think that you drew all the flowers too!! You are a very talented and sweet artist.

This is so beautiful and inspiring. I keep telling myself that when I retire (or my kids leave home) I will dedicate some time to something like this. Thanks for sharing.
