I usually serge the seams when I put them back together. Nice job on the jacket. I also put zippers in them. This is where I try out new blocks or designs. Sometimes I put tailored slash pockets in if the design I've used warrants them. They are quite warm when finished. The most fun is making small childrens jackets. They love the bright colors. I have used beads, ribbons, fun trims and buttons but always put a zipper in with some kind of a zipper pull. Lately I have used charms that state it was "made for an angel" I then donate them to charity as I no longer have any small grandkids.

It was just a burgundy sweatshirt that had a small curves emblem on the right. I sewed my strips to the fuzzy size so that the inside would be smooth to wear over clothing.

I just searched the tutorials here and went by that. No real pattern.

Here is the link to the one I made for my mom this spring- they are very similar! My mom's favorit color is pink so her jacket is very pink! I added some length to the bottom too because it didn't seem long enough. Yours is great!

I wish I had looked more closely at your jacket before I put the pockets on. I really like the way you did yours.

I did an edge stitch on most of the seams so it looks like it is surged. That made it look a lot more finished. Around the arm holes I used my pinking shears.
I gave it to my mom over the weekend. She loved it and was impressed with how much work I put into it.

    So where do seams show?
I just made a tote that I had to cover the seams. I just cut a strip of the fabric used in the tote and sewed it like binding. I put the raw edge next to the seam, stitched right sides together, folded fabric over the seam, turned under the edge, & stitched that side down. On one I had to hand sew the 2nd side. I trimmed the seam I was covering so it wouldn't be bulky.

Pretty. I want to make one. Queen size quilt & table runner in progress at the moment.
