We must be related...I don't want anything without a pocket, or two.

You did a great job! I like the idea of encasing the seams, gives it a nice finished look! :D

Very pretty. I have had a sweatshirt all ready to do this for a long time, just never seem to get to it.

Spudgm: Me too!!! This sat on my shelf for a long time, and I had two possible sweatshirts to use. The other was a pinky coral, but I'm glad I used the green. Now you get motivated to make one. If you're like me, you seldom make anything to keep or wear for yourself! Consider your backside booted!!! LOL

Thats real nice. I like the way it looks.

And that inside pocket is one that I've added to some of my shopping jackets. I think it is far safer that way. Jail/prison guard son and daughter say that pick pocketing is getting worse nowadays, with all the job losses and Christmas coming up.

Aunt Ria: I cut straight-grain long strips for the shoulders and side seams, and bias cut strips for the armholes. I press them so the edges match, then lay the strip under the stitched seam. They were 3" to start, 1 1/2" after pressing. Stitch the binding along the prior stitching line. Then fold over the edge (which is the pressed fold) pin in place and stitch. I used an applique stitch which makes a nice finish. The ends of the binding are left raw, as they get enclosed in the next steps. Hope this makes sense, if not, PM me and I'll try to send you some pics of the steps. Good luck. Penny

I would never think of using brown and black together, but the black print is what is in the background of the floral prints. Then I pulled out the plain brown and pink from my stash, and they matched the colors in the flowers. Also the dotty green for the inside. Nice to find things that go together already on hand. Stash reduction!!!
