I am now working on the 16" blocks as well as the original Swoon which is a 24" finished block. I have liked doing both of them. For the small sized block there is a tutorial online that was previously posted. For the original authentic Swoon, got to thimbleberries.com. I made both quilts with Moda Vintage Modern. These patterns have a lot of pieces and HSTs. Beautiful blocks. Many pictures of Swoons online.

You did a wonderful job with that pattern. I love your fabric choices. Was it difficult to work on such a large block?

Close! The only requirements were to make a 40"x40" block or quilt top using the fabric in the brown bag. I chose to make the swoon block.

This is the pattern I followed for my first square that measures 16x16: http://doublenickelquilts.blogspot.c...ilt-block.html It is the same link that IngeMK posted. This version eliminates a lot of HSTs. For my first square I used charm pack sized squares, just like the tute shows. For my larger block I used layer cake (10") squares, but followed the same instructions. Since I posted the picture, I added a boarder to my larger square, so it now measures 40x40". I have it hanging up in my sewing room and will leave it there until I have to part with it in December.
