Wonderful quilt! I still have plans to do an attic windows wall hanging. Also, I've used that doweling/pocket technique too, and it works great!

i didn't really have any trouble with it. biggest thing for me was making sure to leave some space when i cut the panels so it stayed in proportion in the 'windows' (didn't want stretched out or bunched up fish!). and trying to decide how to quilt in the 'windows'.

some say the mitering (sp?) is an issue for them, but for some reason that comes pretty easily to me. you can make the attic windows with the 1/2 square triangles in the corners.
