This table runner used 8 fabrics from light to dark. A strata was made using 1 1/2" strips. I then used my square ruler to measure diagonally for a large triange and a small triangle. The runner was not hard to make at all, and I am a beginner.

Nancy, when you get ready to make the pattern, make sure that your strips are exactly 1 1/2" cut and when you sew your strips together you really do need accurate 1/4" seams. I spray starched the strata really good and made sure it was exactly 8 1/2" wide before cutting the triangle pieces. If you have any questions before you cut your pieces feel free to contact me here. The spray starched fabric made it really easy to cut.

I also made this table runner in a rainbow of colors using the Michael Miller Fairy Frost fabric. It turned out really neat...I'm binding the quilt with yellow Fairy Frost this weekend at my quilt retreat. I will post a pic of it next week.

Wonderful. Would you share how you got your center to lie so nice and flat?

Som, where do you think you had the problem with the pattern? I'm sorry to hear you had to throw fabric away 3 times. If I lived closer I could help you. My instructions were typed out by someone as I had taken the class on how to do it. If you would like a copy of my instructions I could always send them to you. This table runner can me made in a day.

This is beautiful. I would like to try my hands at this. Where did you find the pattern, or is this your own design?
