I think your quilt is lovely in every way. It would look beautiful on a table as well as a bed. I would use it on the table for special occasions; but, I would be careful about what I served for the dinner and not serve any of those foods that could make a permanent stain. I would also consider a vinyl cover when using foods that could stain. It is a win-win if you are just careful in advance. But, use your beautiful quilt for the purpose intended. I would add that I use quilted placemats every day and wash them often. There are no stains on them after very long time use.

Very beautiful. If you are afraid of a spill, any chance it could be used as a wall hanging in your kitchen? Even if you had to accordian it, it would still be beautiful and you'd still get to enjoy it in the busiest room in your house every day.
    This sort of idea... https://www.google.ca/search?rls=com...SFuO8xKV6IR8M:

It's beautiful. I'd be afraid to use that on a table!

I love the vintage look it has. Some of the fabrics look older- great quilt!
I agree with your husband on this one

It's beautiful. Use on table if you want to display it, but I would take it off when eating.

I love your colours & pattern. I have made many quilted table cloths for both myself & my daughter. We both use them everyday on our tables. Food does get spilled on them but there has never been a problem with stains. If red wine or beet pickle juice gets dribbled on the table cloth I simply spray it & wash. Not a stain on any of them. I would definitely use it as a table cloth.
