Boy, these are a challenge for me. I've never had so much go wrong with a project. It happened the first time I made them too! And--just to show how dense I can be, I just ordered more red fabrics to make more!

I'm headed to Joanne's later to get more fringe. I'm out!

Note--I redid the eye on the furthest left horse. It wasn't right...but it is now!

I'm off this week and now have eight projects to quilt. NO MORE tops will be made until these are done! THEN I'm going to make that wildflower meadow Bargello! I can't wait! :-D :-D :-D

This is how they look when done.

I'm donating one for an auction this spring at a horse rescue place and will sell the other two. I have no idea what price though. They are a LOT of work.

Boy, that fringe has a mind of its own! It's so funny to be spreading it all upwards to iron things down--and separating parts for the forelock. It sticks to my dry hands. But I love the flaxen look. I bought more suede today--a light brown and more gray, and more fringe--they only have cream and white, which works fine. In my hunt for the faux suede, I saw many others fabrics that would make a good horse.

Karla, What a beautiful auction quilt this will be! are there knowledgeable quilters in a LQS or local guild that may be able to give you an appraisal? I made a charity quilt and worked with a quilter who did this. She gave me a free 'rough' appraisal because we had worked together and it was for a charity quilt.

Yes--my quilter friend, Jill, is good about giving me ideas on prices! Thanks for the suggestion! :-D

Karla...another great set of quilts! I love that you are doing it for the horse charity. You always do an amazing job on these. I love the suede and fringe. I was trying to remember...did you paint the eyes last time?

Oh goodness no. I have no drawing talents at all. I guess they were sucked out and placed in the color picking section of me. I did, however, draw the given eye template a bit larger for a more doe eyed look. Does that count for anything???
