My sister Yvonne sent me this link http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-52269-1.htm to Pollyv9's pictures she posted today, because she knew I'd made a block like Pollyv9's table runner but in different colors.

Here is the one I made, and some companion blocks for an eventual "primitive" style quilt. Isn't it interesting how the same block with different fabric changes its style?

The Bird on a Vine pattern is available free online from Robyn Pandolph and RJR Fabrics at the following link.

Those are so cool. Different fabric makes such a huge difference. Thanks for sharing.

and Robyn Pandolph's bird looks even more different. (Facing the other direction)
I still say that's the 'zaniest bunny rabbit' I've ever seen! Crazy!

    Good job, Sister!

I really like those. They are non-traditional.

I just found this thread. I have been thinking of using that pattern in different colors and wondered if I would like it as well as the pastels. You know what? I do. So glad I was browsing older posts. Hope I don't miss the primitive quilt when you get it finished!

It really is nice and encouraging to find such positive messages; even when it's just three blocks and not yet a quilt. You've inspired me to press on with renewed gusto! Thank you, and :-) Love from Marcella

(Polly, those really are a LOT of leaves! I like your pastels very much too!)
(Yvonne, I think so far I have inadvertently reversed the direction of all three of those critters. May as well carry on as I've begun, I suppose!)
