Red, those are fantastic! I think the sunflowers are my favourite but then I love sunflowers! The pumpkin is really cute - Skeat would love it, she's got a pumpkin thing going on! A border for the flowers quilt - how about a darkish inner border, tone on tone, using a colour from the quilt then an appliquéd outer border with some of those flowers with the leaves either side on a trailing vine? (go on - you KNOW you want to do more hand appliqué!) then bind with more of the inner border fabric?

:-) Thank you... thank you... thank you! Sweet words of approval.

I try hard to do my very best each time I make something. I try and chose something that would take me just a little further than my skills are, it forces me to learn.

A hint cynde ... The cat is looking at it! Lol! It is intended to blend into the picture. The next step is to do the free motion outlining and embellishments. That is going to be the fun part. I want to find a hot fix crystal that is a very dark teal blue for his eye.

I will try and think of something a little less labor intensive for the ending of that quilt. I get too picky with the applique. I want this finished in my lifetime. LoL! Maybe some golden like the center with small prarie points to bring out the color with some intrest? I guess we will see.

I may be too late ... but, I really looked at your garden/sunflower/cat/bird quilt ... and I went through a TON of outside border ideas ... I cannot imagine .. oh, I think you said the other was red ... How about something that looks like a fence with the current type outer border fabric what you see through the fence ... ?

and then I finish reading the email I quoted and see: I don't want to do anything fussy ...and the prairie points ...

the thing I am seeing is HEY! Fabric that looks like rocks? like a path walking around your cat/garden/ and window frame? ... if the color is too great in contrast, it could be very hmmm.. not sure of the word...
Oh, heck, Red, it looks like you know what you are doing and you really didn't need any advice
    Good deal!

Omak! I want to finish off the yellow quilt top! LoL! The other one is finished the way it is. It will be framed after the embellishments and quilting is done. That is a block that normally goes into a huge wallhanging by mckenna ryan. But, if you know anything about her stuff everything is too pricey for me to do a whole one. That is crazy!

Thanks for looking at it and trying to figure out what to do with it though. That was very sweet of you.

Here is her site to check out some of her quilts ... She lives very near my son and daughter in law.

This one is in the "storybrook farms" multi-block quit.

okey, dokey ... so, now we know that Omak does not read all the words, just looks at pictures! and, even if she reads the words after looking at the pictures, she may or may not remember what was written long enough to go back and peruse the whole thing. but, aside from that little flaw in her observation skills, Omak thinks that Red still provided her own solution ... or you could do a bunkhouse braid, using all the colors in the quilt, though you really did want a simple border ... hmmm... just trying to help you here ... how about taking all of the color scraps longer than eight inches and creating a single brick border around the whole thing? Or! You could do prairie points .... LOL ... I love it when a plan comes together!
OH! And, I looked at that website ... I just want to say: I am glad it is her and you and not me! I am so happy that God created those exuberant souls who just must go beyond a four patch and really celebrate God's green earth. HOO RAH! Continue on ...

 Omak ... I hope you didn't take offence to how I said that. I was laughing when I wrote it. I know I sometimes am misunderstood. Please forgive me if it did. I was just in such a good mood from all the sweet comments.

I HEARD you laughing! I am so used to me, that I knew what was so funny ... LOL ... I thought we were having a very good time. I almost didn't respond because this thread is about your beautiful WIP that were being completed ... however, you seemed to be having so much fun with my "dyslexic" half reading ... I just could not resist adding to the fun.
nope ... no offense to be concerned about ... we were having a good time getting to know each other ... and, I appreciate the patience of those observers who have to get through a little teasing ... to find out really constructive insights. We just have to trust that everyone really is trying to have a good time while learning and sharing and getting inspired ... my trust has never been shaken ... never Life needs more clowns LOL!

They are all beautiful. I especially like the middle one. It looks like so much work but worth it I am sure.
