    Carol, We did everything that we needed to do to get the job done didn't we? I remember doing things with my Mom that wasn't 'woman's work'.... but there were only us 'women' in the house so if it got done we did it! Learned quite a bit from my Mom!

    I have the ironing board my grandpa made for my grandma when they first got married- 80 years ago. It has the same metal frame as yours, with a heavy plywood top. It's heavy and bulky to move around, but really stable and I will never give it up.

    that ironing board is exactly like the one I got from my mom 25 years ago! You're going to love how stable and strong it is - good find!
